Ding has witnessed millennia tracing back to 1,600 BC. Ding used to be defined as a symbol of royal power, but what the designer Mia YU sees is the wisdom and creativity in those days, from the ancient people, and the indisputable beauty and grace of this preserved bronze piece.
On her way of re-imagining the traditional, Mia believes it bears the same importance to reserve as to innovate. She tried to extract the defining features of Ding, and transform them into a piece for living space. Finally, she took inspiration from Ding’s form and color.
