About Us

Who is grado
In 2013, our founder Alex passed through a small town in Italy called “Grado”. He was intrigued to learn that “grado” means “angle” in Italian — a word that struck a chord with him. Later, he chose Grado as the name of the brand, not only for its meaning but also for the resonance it carried. In Chinese, “格度” (Grado) implies both “style” and “warmth”— a name that reflects our design philosophy.
Established in 2014 in Hangzhou, China, grado is an international furniture design brand that integrates design, R&D, manufacturing, and sales. With a team of world-class designers, we began by focusing on workplace environments. Over time, our expertise expanded into residential, commercial, educational, and healthcare spaces.
As we grew, we noticed the line between home and office was becoming increasingly blurred. In response, grado set out to bring great design beyond the 8-hour workday and into the other 8 hours of life. In 2019, we officially launched the Living collection — marking a new chapter in our brand journey. This is the grado you see today.

Born in Hangzhou, renowned in Milan, today grado is once again set to expand from Hangzhou to the world.
